LEVEL-UP LITERACY

Leadership Coaching

Literacy improvement begins with clarity. When leaders have a shared understanding of effective literacy instruction, they can create the alignment and consistency needed to improve outcomes for every student.

In this strategic and collaborative partnership, Amanda collaborates with your leadership team to strengthen literacy leadership by exploring the key elements that support sustainable school-wide improvement.

Together, leaders will build their own coaching capacity, connect with other leaders and clarify what effective literacy teaching looks like in your context, including:

  • a shared vision for literacy instruction

  • an agreed instructional model (A Literacy Playbook)

  • shared language across the school

  • whole-school curriculum mapping

  • assessment decision-making

  • coaching approaches to leadership

  • sustaining relational trust

  • development of leadership capacity

Because without clarity, consistency is impossible. And without consistency, students experience different literacy opportunities depending on their classroom. And without connection,

This experience supports leaders to align their literacy approach, strengthen collective responsibility and develop practical next steps to lead meaningful literacy improvement across their school.

Together, teachers build their capacity to design and deliver effective literacy instruction by focusing on:

  • explicit teaching of reading, writing, speaking and listening through structured approaches

  • creation and refinement of novel/literature study units to teach literacy, literature and language

  • Project Zero's Thinking Routines

  • vocabulary theory, frameworks, models and vocabulary instruction

  • reading including comprehension and reading fluency

  • writing including genre-based writing and sentence-level to text-level based writing

Speaking

Amanda’s presentations go beyond sharing literacy strategies and research. Drawing on her experience as a classroom teacher, literacy coach, curriculum leader, coach, consultant and founder, she brings real-world insight into the complexities of teaching and leading literacy.

Through engaging speaking opportunities, workshop lead, podcast (Multidimensional Literacy Magic), and professional conversations, Amanda transforms evidence-informed practice into practical ideas that teachers and leaders can apply in their own contexts.

Are you ready for a message that is practical, thought-provoking and inspiring?

Known for making complex ideas accessible, Amanda connects research with classroom realities, leaving audiences with fresh perspectives, actionable strategies and the motivation to strengthen literacy outcomes for every student. She'll share how stepping away from education (twice) became the catalyst for returning stronger- with greater clarity, resilience and a renewed sense of purpose: to help teachers feel confident, leaders feel equipped and schools create literacy success for every student to achieve their absolute BEST. Through her own journey of change and growth, Amanda highlights the powerful impact educators can have when they are supported, valued and empowered.
